Five Pieces, Five Stories

a month of pieces made for someone in particular

Every month a handful of pieces leave the HoneyBelle workshop, and almost none of them look like anything else we’ve made. That’s the part we love. Someone arrives with a memory, a person, a date or a stone that matters to them, and together we work out how to put it into gold.

Here are five that went out recently.

1. milly’s birthstone ring

Milly was given some money by her grandparents. Rather than spend it on something that would come and go, she decided to turn it into a piece that would keep them close. We made her a bespoke ring set with their birthstones, so every time she looks down at her hand, they’re there.

She’d also had her eye on our 1ctw Georgian Cut Inspired drop diamond earrings for a while, so a pair of those came home with her too.

2. a bracelet for Tuscany’s mum

Tuscany wears a beautiful pink stone engagement ring, and she wanted her Mum to have something that spoke to it. We created a bracelet with a pink tourmaline pendant, and she gave it to her on her own wedding day.

There’s something lovely about a gift travelling in that direction on a wedding day.

3. the Maia, made again

Maia comes from the Greek word for mother, and the necklace was designed with a family in mind. It’s a bar set with a row of diamonds, each one a different cut and shape, no two the same. Individual, but sitting together as one piece. That’s the whole idea of a family, really, and it’s why we made it for the one who keeps everything together.

We gave one away for Mother’s Day and it became very clear very quickly that a lot of people wanted one of their own. So we made another, just as sparkly as the first, and we can make one for you too.

4. nine diamonds for nine grandchildren

This one still gets us. A ring set with nine emerald cut bezel diamonds, one for each grandchild, with all nine of their initials engraved on the inside of the band. It was given to her by her sons for her 70th birthday.

From the outside it reads as a beautiful diamond band. On the inside it’s a whole family, kept close to the skin. That’s the idea of an heirloom, really.

5. the family, complete

Ash’s tennis bracelet

After Ash welcomed her third baby, her husband Jack got in touch wanting to mark the milestone. Together, we made a classic tennis bracelet set with three subtle heart-shaped diamonds, one for each of their children ~ the final piece of the family puzzle. Timeless on the outside, personal in the details.

If there’s a piece in your head, we’d love to help you make it.

Most of our bespoke work starts with a message and a rough idea, sometimes nothing more than a stone someone loves or a person they want to honour. If that sounds like you, get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
