10 Friends, 10 Diamonds

A Bespoke Friendship Ring Story

This story starts on Cosy Dell Road in Dunedin, where ten girls spent two years flatting together while studying at the University of Otago.

If you remember our 9 High School Best Friends, 9 Diamond Rings story,
you'll love this one…

Since the Cosy Dell Road days, life has taken them everywhere. Between them they've lived in New Zealand, London, Spain, Germany and Australia. Some even ended up living together again for another ten years after university. They've travelled the world together, celebrated weddings, birthdays and every milestone in between, and despite living in different corners of the world, they still talk every single day.

Holly laughs that they're probably the most Type A group of girls you'll ever meet. Nine out of the ten are oldest daughters which, according to her, explains how they've managed to organise years of overseas trips, weekends away and life admin without missing a beat.

One of their biggest adventures was a girls' trip to Ibiza to celebrate turning 30. Holly describes it as "mayhem... and honestly the best."

friendships are meant to be celebrated

Inspired by a HoneyBelle story…

The idea for these rings came while everyone was living in different countries. After reading our 9 High School Best Friends, 9 Diamond Rings journal, Holly reached out wanting to create something similar for her own group of friends. Something they could all wear every day, no matter where life took them.

Together, we customised our Emma Scattered Diamond Ring, adding 10 diamonds to each ring — one diamond to represent each friend.

Then came the engraving

Inside every ring are the letters BOTD.

It stands for "B*tches of the Dell."

A nickname that started back in their Cosy Dell flat and has stuck ever since. Their group chat is still called The Dell. And now those four little letters are engraved inside every ring…

as a reminder of where it all began.

This got us pondering…

Imagine a friendship ring where each diamond is a different shape, with every shape representing one person in the group. Then, tucked away on the inside of the band, each friend's initial engraved beside their diamond.

A little map of your people, kept safe inside your ring.

If you've got a group of lifelong friends and you're dreaming up something completely unique, we'd love to help create it. After all, the best bespoke pieces often start with a simple conversation. 🤍

If you have an idea you'd love to bring to life, we'd love to help.
